Corner-cutting dentist finds new use for office supplies

Businesses are trying to stretch budgets and get the most out of the office supplies they buy. But normally, they don’t go as far as this guy.
Michael Clair, a former Mass.-based dentist, is accused of using paper clips inside of root-canal patients’ teeth — instead of the more expensive stainless steel posts normally used, USA Today reports.
To turn a larger profit, Clair also billed Medicaid for the more expensive parts.
Eventually the law did catch up to the rogue dentist. In addition to submitting false claims to Medicaid, Clair was charged with assault and battery, larceny and illegally prescribing drugs to patients who didn’t need them.
