Economy shifts purchasing priorities

Looks like the economy’s having a big impact on companies’ priorities while buying office equipment.
Price is by far the biggest factor purchasers will consider when replacing their printers, copiers and scanners, according to a recent survey of more than 175 office equipment purchasers by Better Buys for Business. Almost half (47%) of respondents said the biggest thing that will influence their next purchase or lease.
Coming in second was total cost of ownership at 27%. Speed was ranked at the bottom with 4%.
The other factors listed:
- Networking & interfacing capabilities (21%)
- Service guarantee (21%)
- First-hand experience with a brand or product line (19%)
- Dealer relationship (14%)
- User friendly features (13%)
- Brand reputation (12%)
- Feature set (10%)
