Fujitsu’s new network scanner
December 8, 2009 by Steve HannafordPosted in: Product miniReviews
The Fujitsu ScanSnap fi-6010N iScanner ($2,995 list) is Fujitsu’s entry into the growing category of networked scanners that are geared to document scanning but also can be used for such functions as scan-to-email and scan-to-network fax.
That versatility makes it an interesting buy for workgroups that do some document scanning but also need some local general-purpose scanning as well.
With a built-in Ethernet port, the ScanSnap fi-6010N includes programmable function buttons, along with both an 8.4-inch color touchscreen display (for previewing and validating scans) and a keyboard.
The scanner runs at 25 ppm in both black-and-white and color, and in duplex mode scans at 50 ppm. The document feeder can hold up to 50 sheets.
