If your users send and receive a lot of data on company-issued smartphones, look out — your bills might go up soon.
AT&T has ditched its $30 unlimited data usage plan, an attractive product for power users who send and receive large amounts of data on a regular basis.
Instead, folks can pay $15 a month to get 200 MB of data. Customers who go over 200 MB in a monthly billing cycle get an additional 200 MB of data for $15 until the end of that billing cycle.
Or or $25 a month, consumers sign up for the DataPro plan and get 2 gigabytes of data. If subscribers exceed 2 GB during a billing cycle, they will be charged $10 for an additional 1GB of data.
The bottom line: Most costumers will save money, but so-called “power users” will be hit with higher bills because of the amount of data they transfer.
