Security firm Symantec recently ranked the “10 riskiest online cities.” Is yours on the list?
The rankings are based on Symantec’s data about online attacks and malware infections, as well as information about users’ risky online behavior.
The top 10 list:
- Seattle
- Boston
- Washington, DC
- San Francisco
- Raleigh, NC
- Atlanta
- Minneapolis
- Denver
- Austin, TX
- Portland, OR
A lot of the cities on the list are also among the most tech savvy cities in the country — where there’s more online activity, there’s more online crime.
Places like Seattle, Washington, DC, and Boston, Symantec says, are rife with WiFi hotspots, which can be a goldmine for hackers.
