The Ricoh Aficio SP 4210N is a black-and-white printer for small-to-midsize workgroups.
It prints at 37ppm and has a list price of $799.
A 500-sheet paper tray and 100-sheet bypass come standard. You can add one or two 500-sheet drawers, for a maximum of 1,600 sheets. The bypass will take paper up to 80 lb. index in weight. As with many other printers at this level, in spite of the substantial paper input, the output is restricted to a 250-sheet tray.
Standard PCL and PostScript are supplemented by Ricoh’s host-based printing, called RPCS.
Supplies are not something you can buy in the open market, but they are long lasting (15,000 pages for toner, 90,000 pages for a maintenance kit). The estimated cost per page based on suggested prices is around 1.5 cents, very good in its class.
With the Aficio SP 4210N, Ricoh has found a small but competitive niche by providing strong basic features and a low printing cost.
