Study: 4,500 flash drives left at the cleaners

A recent report shows some of the places important data could end up if employees take it home.
Around 4,500 USB drives were forgotten at dry cleaners in 2009, according to a recent survey by Credant Technologies.
Taxis swallow their share of data as well: Based on a survey of drivers, about 12,500 laptops, memory sticks and other devices are left in the backs of cabs every six months.
The lesson for IT pros: When users have to travel with sensitive data, make sure they’re using encrypted drives.
