Tool helps firms track printer use

Reining in printing costs is no easy task. But there is a solution some businesses have tried: Find out who prints what and hold them responsible.

PaperCut is software that lets businesses track printer use to properly charge departments and spot areas where printers are being overused or abused.

The tool tracks activity by printer, user and group. You can also set thresholds to blocks job that are too large. PaperCut also provides info about each printer’s load so you can arrange machines accordingly.
